DisAbility Services – Volunteers and Mentors supporting people with disability
The DisAbility Services Program provides an exciting and wide range of recreational activities for young people and adults with special needs.
We are looking for volunteers to assist us with camps, day trips, Stepping Out and Interchange. Our Out and About programs and Wilderness Alive program, both Senior and Junior, offer people with special needs a variety of adventure weekends and day trips that take them to a range of places throughout Gippsland.
Adventures include camping, horse riding, canoeing, movie and dinner and go karts. Clients in the Stepping Out Program are matched with their own mentor (a volunteer) and use their hours doing creative respite, like water aerobics and karate. Volunteering in the Interchange program involves matching you with a child with special needs for a weekend or overnight. UnitingCare Gippsland is a quality accredited community service agency. Staff and volunteers provide a range of community services in Gippsland for children, young people, families and individuals.
